The Petro Gazz Angels flexed their muscle against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans for a convincing four-set win to open their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign.
Petro Gazz made quite the impression in its 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference opener after overpowering Choco Mucho in four sets, 25-20, 26-28, 25-21, 25-16, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Angels came close to an opening-day sweep if not for the Flying Titans’ extended set victory in the second frame.
With momentum on their side, Petro Gazz distanced themselves early on in the fourth set and never looked back, buoyed by the efforts of Brooke Van Sickle and Jonah Sabete.
AA Adolfo then sealed the win with an off-the-block hit for the Angels’ strong start to the new season.
Van Sickle had a monster outing with 28 attacks, two blocks, and four service aces.
Petro Gazz will have a week off before the Angels face defending champs Creamline on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Ynares Center Antipolo.
Choco Mucho, on the other hand, will look to bounce back against Galeries Tower on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
