Rachel Anne Daquis' debut for the Farm Fresh Foxies in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference will have to wait, as the veteran spiker works her way back to game shape.
Rachel Anne Daquis will not be suiting up just yet for the Farm Fresh Foxies.
Daquis was present during the Foxies’ team photo ahead of their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference opener against the Cignal HD Spikers Saturday, November 16, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The veteran spiker, however, was in street clothes instead, along with Jheck Dionela, Alohi Robins-Hardy, Lorene Toring, and Jolina Dela Cruz.
Talking to reporters before the match, Daquis admitted that she is still working on her game shape to ensure no injuries will happen upon her return to court action.
“Actually, maghihintay lang din tayo kung puwede ako makakalaro. Wala pang certain time pero step-by-step gagawin kasi ayoko din naman na pagbalik ko ma-injure so dapat talagang 100 percent na kaya talaga,” Daquis explained.
Daquis signed with Farm Fresh less than a month ago. She last played for the Cignal HD Spikers during the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference.
Since then, Daquis has been busy with her bakery business, but eventually decided to make a return to the taraflex.
“Kakasabay ko pa lang sa Farm Fresh last month eh so kailangan makabalik ako sa kapa ng bola. Kahit nakakapag-workout ako, siyempre nag-stop ako sa paglalaro mismo, so ‘yun ‘yung wino-work out ko,” she added.

Though she will miss her first encounter against her former team, Daquis knows that there will be plenty of matchups to come in the future.

She also hopes to bring all her learnings from Cignal to a young and up-and-coming Farm Fresh squad.
“Nagulat nga ako agad pero let’s face the reality. Talagang makakalaban at makakalaban ko talaga si Cignal, but alam mo ‘yun, kung ano ‘yung mga natutunan ko sa Cignal, kung ano ‘yung mga naging paghihirap namin, kung ano ‘yung as a whole, as a Cignal player, gusto ko madala sa Farm Fresh,” said Daquis.
