At the end of the day, Jema Galanza feels at home when playing for the Creamline Cool Smashers.

After missing out on the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference duel between the Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Galanza came back roaring in their first encounter in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.

Galanza put up a solid 24 points built on 22 attacks, one block, and one ace, to go along with nine excellent digs, and 17 excellent receptions, steering Creamline past its sister team in four sets.

Despite the pressure-packed game and being in front of 9,551 spectators at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Galanza simply enjoyed being with her “family.”

“Ako happy lang naman ako lagi na naglalaro ako sa Creamline kasi siyempre family, ito ‘yung kinalakihan ko ba. Ang tagal ko na, seven years na,” Galanza said during the post-game press conference.

Galanza has been a huge part of the Cool Smashers' success since joining the team in 2017.

In fact, the Cool Smashers have become the 28-year-old spikers’ comfort zone, especially when she’s not feeling herself in some matches.

“Parang ito 'yung comfort zone ko. Every time na gusto ko ng kumpiyansa sa sarili at mabalik ko ‘yung laro kong gusto kong mabalik, so ‘yun, super excited lang na maglalaro,” said Galanza.

But whether it’s Choco Mucho or a different team, Galanza knows that Creamline will step up and deliver.

After all, they are 10-time PVL champions and are seeking five-straight in the All-Filipino Conference.

“Siguro regardless kung sino kalaban parang lagi naman kung sino kalaban namin, laging ganito rin naman nilalaro, so I think ganun din ‘yung energy ng audience na nabibigay sa amin,” said Galanza.
