As Choco Mucho awaits the return of Kat Tolentino, Sisi Rondina and the rest of the Flying Titans remain focused on bringing home their first-ever PVL title.
Just when Choco Mucho seemed to finally be healthy after dealing with plenty of injuries last year, the Flying Titans are faced with another adversity to start 2025.
Opposite hitter Kat Tolentino will be missing some time as she underwent surgery due to a ruptured appendix.
Still, Choco Mucho managed to soldier on and secured a three-game winning streak in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Their latest win came against PLDT in four sets, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, January 23.
As they offered their win for Tolentino, team captain Sisi Rondina kept a positive mindset despite all the injuries and challenges they’ve faced.
“Lagi kong iniisip talaga, life motto ko ‘to na everything happens for a reason. Sa mga nangyayari ngayon, alam ko naman na nandyan ‘yung mga teammates ko para mag-step up at gawin ‘yung trabaho na naiwan ng kasama namin,” Rondina, who finished with 20 points in the win, said during the post-game press conference.
The former MVP added that this recent hurdle for the Flying Titans will only make them stronger as they continue to search for their first-ever title.
“Hindi naman na ‘to bago sa team namin. Lagi lang namin iniisip na ito na naman, pero sabi nga ni ate Dindin [Santiago-Manabat], challenge accepted. Wala kaming ibang gagawin kundi ipakita na ‘yung naiwang trabaho ng kasama namin, tatrabahuin namin,” said Rondina.
“Siyempre, ‘yung goal ng team is manalo nang manalo. Tatrabahuin namin ‘to hangga’t ‘di pa tapos,” she added.

Still undefeated in 2025, Choco Mucho will have plenty of time to recover and prepare for their next match which will be against Akari on February 8 at the PhilSports Arena.
