Wilma Salas is back in the Philippine volleyball scene as she will suit up for the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the upcoming 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League, which kicks off on April 20 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

PLDT announced that the 34-year-old Cuban standout, who previously starred for the Petro Gazz Angels, will be one of the High Speed Hitters' foreign reinforcements for the continental tournament.

She arrived in Manila on Wednesday night and is set to join the High Speed Hitters in training immediately.

Salas is a familiar face to Filipino volleyball fans, having powered Petro Gazz to its historic 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference title—a run that earned her Best Foreign Player honors. She returned to the same squad in the 2024 edition of the tournament but finished in sixth place.

PLDT is one of three Philippine clubs competing in this year’s AVC Champions League, joining fellow PVL squads Creamline and Petro Gazz.

The High Speed Hitters still have one import slot open, as Savi Davison continues to be classified as a foreign player by the AVC due to pending transfer paperwork.

The AVC Women’s Champions League 2025 will run until April 27.
