Basas and Sy reunited with some of their FEU teammates in Cignal.
Adjusting to a new team usually takes several practices and game days. But for Gyzelle Sy and Toni Rose Basas, making the transition with the Cignal HD Spikers seemed natural.
Sy, who is making a return to the PVL after missing out the 2022 season, admitted to head coach Shaq Delos Santos that she was nervous in meeting her new teammates.
“Sabi niya (Delos Santos) sa akin, mag-relax lang daw ako kasi most of the players naman nakasama and kilala ko.
The former Chery Tiggo setter also mentioned that the transition was made easier given their FEU connection with the other players.
Basas, who parted ways with PLDT during the offseason to join Cignal, shared the same sentiment.
Basas and Sy join the long list of former FEU Tamaraws who are playing under Cignal. These include Daquis, Gel Cayuna, and Jerrili Malabanan.
The old newcomers will look to contribute right away, as the HD Spikers seek to complete their playoff runs with a title finish this time.
