It's another 17-point performance from KKD, but the Cargo Movers are not satisfied with the sweep.
The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers got their second straight win of the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference. A sweep against no less than the Akari Chargers, who dealt the squad in yellow a loss back in the 2022 Reinforced Conference.
But they're not too happy.
The Cargo Movers may have won in straight sets, but those were pretty tight ones: 25-22, 25-23, 25-18. They were so close that each team actually tied in total attacks at 36.
Akari actually had more aces, digs, and receptions than F2 Logistics. But their 27 errors, along with the Cargo Movers' 9 blocks, spelled the difference.
"We started slow. So I think that's something we have to work on. Kailangan sa start pa lang, laban agad. 'Di yung kaba-kaba," Kim Kianna Dy said.
KKD was the only one in double digits for F2, making 17 points—the same score she had in their first match this season against PLDT.
Coach Regine Diego, who has been seen on camera urging her players to be more aggressive in their past two matches, admits the change won't happen overnight.
"Lahat naman inconsistent sa first few weeks. In fairness to them, consistent naman silang matagal pumuntos," she joked.
"This is still a journey. Kaka-start lang namin mag-prepare," Diego added. "It's different and kailangan kong maging patient din sa kanila."
One of the more consistent performers for the team was libero Dawn Macandili. After making 35 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions against PLDT, she had another 14 and 13 against Akari. Diego recognizes this play from Macandili will only help them in their process.
"Malaki 'yung potential ng team ngayon. 'Yun 'yung gusto niyang (Macandili) ilabas sa bawat isa," said Diego. "Ang daming changes for the better, very excited ako growing with the team. We're gonna get there."
