The Tab Baldwin finals streak is snapped.
Just like that the defending champions are out.
The UP Fighting Maroons dethroned the Ateneo Blue Eagles and supporters, as usual, had a field time on X (formerly Twitter).
There's the consolation congratulatory messages, the blame game, and of course, trash talking.
"Malamang inantok 'yung mga nagsabing may tulog ang UP sa Ateneo," user @_rvcastro quipped.
Some fans pointed out what they believe to be the reason for Ateneo's demise.
"No go-to guy for Ateneo this year. Great win by UP avenging last year's loss," @jeck_batallones said.
Naz Galang added, "This game pretty much sums up Ateneo this season. No enough shooting."
One fan couldn't take the heartbreaking loss.
"Rewatch ko na lang po UP vs Ateneo Season 85 finals. Ang sakit-sakit niyo BEBOB," said @rjn_ccsmashers
For Robi Raya, the game was "painful to watch" and even picked the De La Salle Green Archers to win it all after witnessing the first Final Four clash.
"Props to Ateneo and UP. What effort from both teams. But that was painful to watch. Can't remember a Final Four with a very shallow talent pool. Picking DLSU to win it all.
