Coming off a morale-boosting rout of Ateneo last Saturday, La Salle sustained its winning form as it ran past University of the East, 25-21, 25-18, 25-10, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday, March 6.

The Lady Spikers brewed a perfect blend of high-octane offense and stifling defense to contain the Casiey Dongallo-led Lady Red Warriors.

Angel Canino, who had a quiet 10-point output versus the Lady Eagles, regained her prolific form. She put up a game-high 17 points laced with nine digs and seven receptions.

Thea Gagate anchored above the net, collecting half of her side's 10 blocks to finish with nine markers.

Shevana Laput also contributed nine points, while Leiah Malaluan and Amie Provide chipped in seven markers each.

Julia Coronel dished out 15 excellent sets for La Salle, which strung an 11-dig, 11-reception production from Lyka De Leon.

After runaway first and second frames, the Lady Spikers played an overwhelming pace in the decisive third, mounting a 20-6 cushion courtesy of a Laput hit.

The lead proved to be insurmountable as La Salle climbs to a 4-1 record at solo second place.

Meanwhile, UE slides to 1-4 for solo seventh.

Dongallo was limited to 15 points, her lowest scoring output in her stellar run thus far. She also had 10 digs in the losing cause.
