DLSU grounds rival Ateneo to begin UAAP Esports VALORANT campaign on a strong note

Evergreen start it is. 

DLSU’s Viridis Arcus Esports are off to a rousing headstart in the VALORANT group stage,  shooting down rivals and hosts Ateneo Blue Eagles, 2-0, in the main game of the inaugural UAAP Esports tournament at the Hyundai Hall on Tuesday, August 13. 

The Taft-based squad capped off an eventful opening day of the inaugural competition on a high, pulling off a 13-4, 13-6 win over the Katipunan-based squad. 

Viridis Arcus joined earlier winners Adamson Falcons, the UP Fighting Maroons, and UST’s Teletigers Esports Club in the winning column. 

  

  

 DLSU and Adamson are now atop of the team standings in Group A behind the Blue Eagles and the Tamaraws Esports while UP and UST lead over the Bulldogs and Zenith Esports in Group B.

 The 16-player field is divided into two groups of eight, competing in a single-round robin best-of-one match. The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals. 

Action resumes tomorrow, Wednesday at August 14.
