Joshua Yerro and the Adamson Falcons get the last laugh over the NU Bulldogs in a back-and-forth affair in UAAP Season 87.
In one of the more clutch moments of recent UAAP memory, Joshua Yerro converted an unlikely game-winner with 0.3 seconds left as the Adamson Soaring Falcons escaped the NU Bulldogs in cardiac fashion, 60-58, in UAAP Season 87 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday, September 25.
After back-to-back clutch baskets from Cedrick Manzano and Jolo Manansala that had the game tied with 0.3 remaining in regulation, Cali Calisay threw the perfect lob for Yerro to tow Adamson to the razor-thin victory.
The game saw both teams hack it out until the final buzzer as they had five deadlocks and four lead changes.
Monty Montebon topscored for the Soaring Falcons in the close win with 15 points as the Soaring Falcons improved to 3-2 for the year. Montebon also had one rebound, two assists, and one steal.
Meanwhile, the NU Bulldogs’ struggles continued as they are now 1-4 in Season 87.
Manansala led the losing effort for NU with 15 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
