As PLDT’s campaign in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League officially came to an end, Savi Davison reflected on the journey, her upcoming plans, and hopes for the next PVL conference.

The High Speed Hitters bowed out in the quarterfinals following a straight-sets loss to Kazakhstan's Zhetysu VC, 13-25, 22-25, 20-25, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, April 24.

Davison led the High Speed Hitters with 13 points, wrapping up what has been a whirlwind stretch of volleyball that included both the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference and the international tournament.

Despite the early exit, the 5-foot-10 spiker is optimistic about what’s ahead.

“Hopefully, as a team, we grow together with them on the court. I’m just excited for the next PVL because everyone gets better. It’s not just us,” Davison said during the post-game press conference.

“I hope these teams from the Philippines take lessons from this tournament and bring it to our home court every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I just hope that we compete further from here," she added.

While most players are eager for some downtime, Davison’s version of rest still involves a bit of grinding.

“I actually go home for a little bit,” the Fil-Canadian spiker shared. “When I’m at home, I’ll actually play in semi-pro tournaments with the girls from Team Canada. I’ll be continuously competing throughout the summer—hopefully safely.”

It won’t be a vacation in the traditional sense, but Davison is hoping for a balance.

“It’s just maintenance,” she said. “Hopefully, I can get better back home as well with the coaches and just bring some lessons that I’ve learned back here. But just rest as well and just time with some family because I didn’t get to go home for Christmas.”

As for a potential national team call-up, Davison isn’t ruling it out—but it’s not at the top of her list right now.

Davison is currently included in the PNVF's 33-player wishlist for Alas Pilipinas Women.

“Maybe when December comes, but right now, it’s just not my priority,” she admitted. “We just came off of a really long conference, plus the AVC.”

In the meantime, she’s allowing herself to take a mental step back.

“I’m going to get as far from volleyball as I can for the next month and then maybe dabble in it,” Davison said with a laugh. “But right now, it’s not on my list for at least this moment. So just keeping it up, just floating, just not volleyball.”
