Big things might be in store for Ange, whose gold-medal match heroics won't soon be forgotten.
Gilas naturalized big man Ange Kouame is headed overseas—to France to be exact
The 6-foot-10 pivot, who received plenty of praise for his pivotal role in Gilas’ golden Asian Games finish, formally announced his next stop on social media, reposting an Instagram Story of a player card of himself with the caption “Up to the next one” while tagging his next team— French club UB Chartres Metropole.
The player card Kouame reposted was actually first posted by Chartres back in September, just a couple of weeks before the former UAAP MVP flew to China with Gilas for the Asian Games.

Curiously, the ex-Ateneo Blue Eagle had previously tweeted his apparent desire to play in the EuroLeague, widely considered as second only to the NBA in terms of the quality of competition and popularity.
“Dream big,” Kouame tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) as he reposted a new season teaser by Serbia-based EuroLeague squad KosarkaSki klub Partizan.
The big guy's next stop won’t be the EuroLeague just yet, but it is a step in the right direction, as Chartres plays in the third tier of French basketball called Nationale Masculine 1.
Kouame, who averaged 7.4 points, 6.1 points, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks in seven games with Gilas in the Asian Games, figures to be a big addition to Chartres, who is seeking a top two finish this upcoming season to be promoted to LNB Pro B, the second tier of French men’s basketball.
