In just a few days, the Philippine women's football team will dive right back into the action in the second round of the 2024 AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Australia.
The Filipinas are entering the next stage with a spotless record in the first round after disposing of Pakistan (4-0), Tajikistan (8-0), and Hong Kong (4-0) and not giving up a single goal.
Things, however, will be way harder in the second round, as the 44th-ranked Filipinas will face higher-seeded teams in Australia (11th) and Chinese Taipei (38th) and a dangerous Iran (63rd).

The Filipinas are now in Perth for the final stretch of their training camp in Australia. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't have fun as well.
In fact, it looks like they're having a grand time in the Land Down Under, based on several videos posted by Eva Madarang and Camille Rodriguez on Instagram.
They showed some behind-the-scenes merriment, including goofiness in the locker room and on the team bus. They even had a day on the beach, where some players frolicked in the water.
Madarang, who made her return to the squad in their historic Asian Games stint, also shared on her Instagram Story that they visited the famous Luna Park in Melbourne.
Of course, there was some football fun as well. Madarang, Sarina Bolden, Sara Eggesvik, Tahnai Annis, Sofia Harrison, and others watched the match between Perth Glory and Newcastle in the A-League Women to support their Filipinas teammates Quinley Quezada and Jessika Cowart. Perth Glory got the win, 1-0.

The Filipinas were warmly welcomed in Perth on Sunday by a bunch of Filipino fans, who eagerly got their pictures and videos taken with the history-making booters.
But with the Olympic qualifiers kicking off on Thursday, expect the Mark Torcaso-coached unit to turn extra serious in training camp. For there's a lot of work to be done.
The Filipinas will face Chinese Taipei on Thursday, Australia on Sunday, and Iran on November 1.
