Espejo leaves the HD Spikers with multiple championships under its belt.
After five years and multiple championships with the team, Marck Espejo is leaving the Cignal HD Spikers.
Espejo expressed his gratitude to the HD Spikers, sharing snaps from their memorable five-year run as he departs the team.
“More than 5 years with this AWESOME team. I'm so grateful for all the love and support,” wrote Espejo on Instagram Sunday.
“Thank you @cignal_hdspikers @teamawesomenation for being part of my journey. Still your kapatid outside the court! Mahal ko kayo,” he added.
The decorated outside hitter helped bring three Spikers’ Turf titles to Cignal from 2018 to 2023.
During that run, Espejo was also named Finals MVP for all three of the HD Spikers’ championship wins, including their undefeated run during the 2023 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.
As an HD Spiker, Espejo also broke the league record for a single game with 43 points during Cignal’s 2019 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference championship victory. That record stood until late last year, when Ran Abdilla scored 47 for the Philippine Air Force.
Espejo is yet to announce his next local team, but the decorated spiker is currently campaigning an Asian import for defending champions Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in the Korea V.League.
