AJ Edu was a solid contributor to Nagasaki Velca’s 68-59 road victory over Levanga Hokkaido Saturday, helping his team bounce back and improve to 2-1 in the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season.

While Edu’s offensive contribution was limited to just four points, he made his presence felt on the defensive end, grabbing eight rebounds while adding two steals and two blocks in the win.

Edu’s strong defensive play helped Nagasaki hold off Hokkaido, who dropped to 0-3 for the season.

This game was expected to be the first head-to-head matchup between Filipino Asian Quota Players in the B.LEAGUE this season, but Dwight Ramos was sidelined due to an injury sustained last week against Shimane.

It remains to be seen of Ramos will suit up in the second game between the two teams Sunday.

Jarrell Brantley led Nagasaki in scoring, firing 28 points. Shuto Terazono was the high man for Hokkaido with 13 points.
