AJ Edu and the Nagasaki Velca hope to rediscover their winning touch in the 2024-25 Japan B.League regular season, challenging the two-time runners-up Ryukyu Golden Kings.

Fresh from his Gilas Pilipinas stint, the Filipino-Cypriot big man is looking to carry his decent outing to Nagasaki, who are just 3-2 in their last five games.

Edu averaged 8.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in his two games playing for Philippine men’s national basketball team in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers 2025.

Before the two-week break, Nagasaki suffered a pair of defeats to the Fighting Eagles Nagoya.

They will be squaring off with a Ryukyu side who are just 3-4 in their last seven games. At 16-21, Nagasaki sits in the no. 6 spot in the Eastern Conference.
