He served for only four months.
"I can say that I gave dignity and respect to the position of Chairman and worked tirelessly for Philippine sports."
These are some the words of Jose Emmanuel 'Noli' Eala as he exits from the Philippine Sports Commission or PSC.
His statement came hours after President Bongbong Marcos has appointed Richard 'Dickie' Bachmann as PSC chairman, effectively replacing the former PBA commissioner.
In his statement, Eala showed a positive outlook on this rather surprising development, as he was only appointed to the post last August 30.
"My brief stint in the PSC gave me an opportunity to once again serve with passion in a field I hold close to my heart," he said in the statement.
Despite the ouster, the long-time sports executive only had good words for President Marcos. "I serve under the pleasure of the president and I fully respect his decision."
He also said that he wishes the new PSC head honcho "all the best" while also expressing gratitude to the sports leaders he has worked with in his stint.
From how it looks, it seems Eala is leaving the Commission with his head held high.
"As I leave, I am at peace knowing that in the months I served, I cared for all our athletes and Philippine sports like no other."
