After this sensational knockout win for a 5-0 professional record, Eumir Marcial will take a rest before practice resumes for the Olympics in Paris.
Eumir Marcial couldn’t stress enough the importance of jabs as he prepares for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 this year.
The Filipino slugger threw one too many in his knockout win over Thoedak Sinam on Saturday, March 23 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Turned out, he used those jabs to set up the one punch that made all the difference.
Like a lion stalking his prey, Marcial waited for the right moment to strike his foe. That right moment came at the 1:33 mark of the fourth round, when he connected a vicious left uppercut that sent his Thai foe to the canvas.
“Kung mapapansin niyo first round, second round sinusubukan ko na yung uppercut ko sa chin,” he said after their super middleweight bout.
“Sinubukan ko na mga dalawang beses nung second and then sabi ko maintain ko lang jab ko then darating yung time na matatamaan ko din sa uppercut, yun talaga set up ko.”
While the uppercut proved to be the fight-clinching punch, Marcial insisted his jabs will be crucial as he looks to bag a gold medal in the Olympic Games.
“Yun pinapractice namin ngayon. Damihan ko pa yung jabs ko. Mas sharp pa kasi very effective talaga pag ginagamit namin lalo na pag sa amateur,” he said.
But for now, Marcial will have to holster his punches as he is set to enjoy a week-long respite before starting his preparations for the quest in the City of Love.
