Barangay Ginebra San Miguel star guard LA Tenorio was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

Tenorio announced this through the PBA, sending shock waves across the Philippine basketball community.

“I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. The initial testing three weeks ago led me to instantly miss practices and games. I have completed my surgery last week and will soon undergo treatment for the next few months,” said the PBA Iron Man, who had not missed a game or practice in 17 years until recently.

But in his biggest battle yet, everyone is rooting for the “GINeral” to return to the court sooner rather than later.

That included his foes on the court, San Miguel Beermen ace Chris Ross and Terrafirma Dyip’s Juami Tiongson.

Count coaches Ariel Vanguardia (Blackwater Bossing) and Charles Tiu (De La Salle-College of St. Benilde Blazers) in.

Former PBA commissioner and Power and Play host Noli Eala is also praying for a speedy recover for the cat-quick Ginebra playmaker.

Gilas teammate and naturalized player Andray Blatche has also joined thousands of fans in praying for Tenorio.

In this battle, everyone’s expecting Tenorio to show his never-say-die attitude.
