Tyler Tio hurt his ankle in Phoenix's opening match against NorthPort in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup last Friday, March 8.
Phoenix ace Tyler Tio will be shelved a little longer than expected.
Tio bared this as he continued to ride the bench in the Fuel Masters' 94-78 win over Terrafirma in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig on Wednesday, March 13.
The former Ateneo standout suffered a fracture in his left ankle in Phoenix’s opening loss to NorthPort, 120-124, five days ago.
While he is no longer wearing a brace and could walk on his own, Tio said he could be out for a few more weeks but added that it was not severe.
"Few more weeks pa," said Tio, who described the injury as a "slight fracture."
“It’s not as bad as we initially thought it would be,” he also said.

Fortunately, the Fuel Masters did not need Tio to chalk up their first win of the conference against the Dyip.
The Fuel Masters pulled away in the final six minutes behind a vintage RR Garcia performance to improve to a 1-2 record.
Phoenix tries to build on this victory as it faces Rain or Shine on Sunday, March 17, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
