San Miguel flipped the switch in the second half to whip Blackwater, 128-108, in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, Aug. 25.

The Beermen thus joined Rain or Shine and NLEX atop Group B with identical 2-0 records while keeping the Bossing listless in three games.

San Miguel played catch-up early on but broke away on an 11-3 run punctuated by June Mar Fajardo’s jumper with 6:34 left in the third period.

The Beermen sustained that fine play and before they knew it, they were already ahead by 20 points after Adams’ booming trey, 120-100, with 4:13 left to play.

Playing with an all-Filipino lineup with the untimely departure of import Ricky Ledo, the Bossing actually started off strong but just did not have an answer for San Miguel’s onslaught in the last two periods.

“I just had to remind them that we were selfish in the first half. We weren’t rotating the ball and we’re giving them easy shots,” said San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent.
