EJ Anosike and the rest of San Miguel went all out in securing the Game 4 win over Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
San Miguel import EJ Anosike showed his goofy side when he faced reporters in the hallway just outside the dugout at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Shortly after the Beermen’s 131-121 win over Ginebra in Game 4 of the best-of-seven PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup semifinals, Anosike flashed a big smile and joked around with some members of the press.
“Follow me on social media, on YouTube. Tag me. That’s the most important thing. See you guys in Game 5,” said Anosike.
In the match, Anosike was all business as he finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.
He said that San Miguel was well-prepared as it evened the series at 2-all.
“Proper preparation leads to proper performance. It’s just another game. We just went back to the drawing board and did a little bit better,” Anosike said.
He was not the only one who stepped up.
After being limited to just 12 points on a 4-for-8 clip in Game 3, June Mar Fajardo converted 12 of his 15 attempts from the field for 29 points he topped with 16 rebounds and three assists.
CJ Perez also had an all-around outing of 20 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block while Marcio Lassiter and Don Trollano scored 15 points each.
But Anosike said the Beermen need to do better as they brace for the Gin Kings' fightback come Game 5 on Friday, Oct. 16.
Tipoff is at 5 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
“We got to keep it going, keep building,” Anosike said.
