Tim Cone and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel are bracing for Game 5 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup semifinals against the San Miguel Beermen on Friday, October 18.
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel simply did not have an answer for the San Miguel Beermen in Game 4 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup semifinals.
That was how Gin Kings coach Tim Cone summed up the 131-121 loss to the Beermen to even the best-of-seven series on Wednesday, October 16.
“What can you say? They were firing on all cylinders tonight,” said Cone.
“We didn’t have an answer for them, they were hitting shots outside, they were getting to the rim, getting involved with June Mar (Fajardo). We just didn’t have an answer for them tonight.”

Indeed, the Beermen simply did everything right from the get-go.
As Fajardo finally recovered his touch after finishing with 29 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field on top of 16 rebounds and three assists, the rest of San Miguel clicked.

EJ Anosike turned in 27 points and 11 rebounds, CJ Perez had 20 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block. Meanwhile, Marcio Lassiter and Don Trollano scored 15 points each.
Terrence Romeo had 14.

Meanwhile, Ginebra relied heavily on Justin Brownlee, who finished with 49 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block.
But Cone and Ginebra are ready to move on from this as they brace for Game 5 on Friday, October 17 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
“Basically back to the drawing board, truy to figure out what we can do better next time around. They were just too good for us tonight,” Cone said.
