PBA legend Samboy Lim, who has been in a long medical battle since 2014, is in stable condition.

The update was posted on The Skywalker’s official Facebook page.

According to the post, Samboy has been receiving “excellent care” from a team of doctors led by Dr. Luigi Segundo.

His daughter, SEA games karate gold medalist Jamie Lim, and former spouse, Atty. Lelen Berberabe, have also been by his side in this trying time.

The 60-year-old Lim will continue to undergo routine occupational and physical therapy.

The medical battle of the PBA Hall of Famer started back in November 2014, when he collapsed in an exhibition basketball game. The episode sent him to a coma. Weeks after the incident, Lim got out of coma, but his condition has rendered him bed-ridden.

Lim is one of the legends of the San Miguel franchise in the PBA. He also represented the Philippine national team several times, including the 1986 FIBA Asia Championship when the country won gold in Malaysia. The Skywalker is one of the PBA’s 40 Greatest Players.
