The PLDT High Speed Hitters are out to make waves on the continental stage as they kick off their campaign in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League against Australia’s Queensland Pirates at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Sunday, April 20.

A late entry and wildcard addition to the tournament, the High Speed Hitters are looking to punch above their weight with a balanced mix of proven veterans and explosive firepower, headlined by returning Cuban import Wilma Salas and Fil-Canadian scorer Savi Davison.

Salas, no stranger to Philippine volleyball fans, will suit up in a different shade of red this time after two stints with Petro Gazz — highlighted by her championship run in the 2019 Reinforced Conference, when she helped the Angels dethrone the Creamline Cool Smashers in a dramatic three-game series.

Alongside Salas and Davison, PLDT will bank on the steady presence of seasoned locals, including Majoy Baron, Mika Reyes, Kianna Dy, and defensive anchor Kath Arado, to steady the ship against some of Asia’s top club teams.

With chemistry brewing and the experience of head coach Rald Ricafort, the High Speed Hitters are eager to show they belong on the big stage — and it all starts against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m.
