The former Ateneo star embarks on a new volleyball journey, this time in the pro league.
Vanie Gandler is taking her talents to the Cignal HD Spikers, the team announced on Instagram on Thursday.
In a statement released to One Sports, the former Ateneo Blue Eagles skipper said she is looking forward to her stint with the HD Spikers.
"As I enter a new phase of my life after college, I’m more than excited to join a volleyball team such as the Cignal HD Spikers," she said.
"The players, coaching staff, and management more than welcomed me into the fold and I’m looking forward to performing to the best of my abilities to help bring Team Awesome to a higher level."
Gandler will join a Cignal team looking to improve on a sixth place finish in the PVL All-Filipino Conference, where it finished with a 3-5 win-loss card.
It was the first time the HD Spikers failed to end up in the podium since the season opener last year.
Coach Shaq delos Santos later said they are looking to fortify the HD Spikers' foundation and the acquisition of Gandler was the first step towards that.
"Here’s to starting new beginnings and getting out of my comfort zone," Gandler said.
