The Choco Mucho star echoes most of her peers’ reaction.
“Sorry, naiiyak po ako this is my first MVP.”
When Ces Molina of the Cignal HD Spikers uttered those words, many were probably surprised. After all, the 28-year-old outside hitter has always been considered as one of the best spikers in the country. Nonetheless, Molina’s MVP era has arrived. The numbers she put up during the PVL Invitational Conference were clearly MVP numbers and she just wasn’t going to be denied.
In the semifinals alone, the outside hitter out of San Beda University scored a league-best 87 points among locals. Her 33.5 success rate meanwhile, ranked third best in terms of efficiency. Molina truly deserved the honor, and most of her fellow PVL stars agree.
Des Cheng of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans was pretty straightforward as she expressed her feelings towards the newly crowned MVP.
“Deserved and MVP,” Cheng tweeted.
Another Choco Mucho player in Maddie Madayag also gave her thoughts on Molina’s latest accolade. The two represented the flag in the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.

For Akari Chargers libero Bang Pineda—whom Molina played with years ago in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL)—the Cignal standout has been an MVP in her eyes for a long time.
“Dati pa ‘tong MVP sa’min,” said Pineda on her IG story.
The respect for Molina’s MVP campaign was palpable. PLDT High Speed Hitters stalwart Mika Reyes and F2 Logistics Cargo Movers captain Aby Maraño joined in as they congratulated the pride of Nueva Ecija. Their messages were re-shared by Ces.
“Para sa’yo talaga ‘yan, proud of you, Cessy,” Reyes posted.
“Deserve mo ‘to. Love you always,” Maraño wrote.
With the MVP award crossed out, probably a reasonable item to put next on Molina’s to-do list is to lead Cignal to its first-ever PVL championship.
