The Creamline Cool Smashers made quick work of the Capital1 Solar Spikers for their fifth straight win in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Creamline Cool Smashers still remain the only undefeated team in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, January 21.
The Cool Smashers improved to 5-0 in the standings as three-time Conference MVP Tots Carlos made her return after missing out on the team’s last two matches to end 2024.
Meanwhile, the Solar Spikers dropped to 1-5 for 11th in the standings.
Dominant from start to finish, the reigning Grand Slam champions pulled away in the third set behind the efforts of Carlos, Jema Galanza, and Alyssa Valdez, who went on a 7-1 run for a 16-10 lead.
Creamline continued to push ahead as Lorie Bernardo and Galanza put the finishing touches on the match, before Patty Orendain’s attack error sealed the win.
Kyle Negrito orchestrated the Cool Smashers' offense to near perfection with 14 excellent sets.
Creamline will be back next Tuesday, January 28 against the winless Nxled Chameleons.
