Ivy Lacsina says she specifically looked at Aby Maraño after F2 Logistics

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers experienced a rollercoaster for their first match in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday against the Akari Chargers, and probably no one in the team felt such peaks and depths than Ivy Lacsina.

The middle blocker-turned-opposite spiker delivered a career-high 26 points in her best game yet for F2 Logistics, coming from 22 attacks, three blocks, and an ace.

She scored three straight points in the third frame to force an extension at 25-24, but Faith Nisperos and Dindin Santiago-Manabat stole the set for Akari.

The match went all the way to the fifth frame, where Lacsina scored an ace, much to the delight of injured teammate Kim Kianna Dy on the sidelines.

@onesportsplus KKD 💛 Ibyang. Nothing but love and support for Ivy Lacsina with her PVL-high of 26 points for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers! #PVL2023 #TheHeartOfVolleyball ? original sound - onesportsplus

But the debuting Fifi Sharma pulled through for the Chargers and got the upset, 21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 19-25, 15-8.

After the game, Lacsina shared the morale in their locker room after the close defeat.

"Siyempre, malungkot po kami," Lacsina admitted her feelings to reporters. "Pero sabi nung boss namin na kaka-start lang 'yung liga. 'Di puwedeng mababa agad ang morale. Dapat mas eager kami na makuha 'yung next game."

Ibyang shared that she got her source of strength from the fierce captain of the Cargo Movers, Aby Maraño.

"Si Ate Aby po talaga 'yung super tinitignan ko kanina after the game. Sobrang strong niya talaga," she gushed. "Kasi ako nada-down kanina. Sabi ko, kailangan trabahuhin 'yung communication."

Lacsina has had constant adjustments over her time with F2 Logistics, now switching to the opposite spiker position after previously playing as a middle blocker. And she credited her senior teammates for giving the advice she needed.

But now with KKD still recovering and no libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig so far for the Cargo Movers, Lacsina has to step up among the juniors. And who better to take cue from than Tyang Aby?

"'Yung mga bata, 'di puwedeng mag-stay na bata," Lacsina recalled coach Regine Diego saying. "Ako 'yung pinaka-senior sa mga bagets. Iniisip ko 'di puwede na kasama lang ako sa mga bagets."

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers will next face the Nxled Chameleons next Tuesday, October 24, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
