Year 2024 starts with a bang for the PVL off season as the Chery Tiggo Crossovers announce a new recruit—Ara Galang.

The outside hitter becomes the third former Cargo Mover to find a new home after F2 Logistics disbanded its volleyball franchise following the second PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Galang said she's ready to branch out and guide the younger players in Chery Tiggo.

"I'm very thankful kasi may opportunity na ganito na maglaro sa Chery, and super excited din kasi unang-una, first time ko lang din (may) makasamang iba talaga. So pumunta ako sa team na wala gaanong kakilala. 'Yung kilala ko lang, si Buding (Duremdes) tsaka si ate Mylene Paat," Galang told the Crossovers in an interview.

"Excited akong makatrabaho at makalaro 'yung mga bata."

A four-time Philippine Super Liga (PSL) champion with F2 Logistics, who was also hailed the 2018 PSL Invitational Most Valuable Player, Galang was having a career revival in the previous PVL conference.

Ara was the no. 3 scorer for F2 Logistics by the end of the preliminaries, finishing with 122 total points. Galang was also the team’s third-best server with an average of 0.34 per set, and also the second-best receiver with a 43.72% efficiency.

Galang vowed to continue playing all-out with the Crossovers, and asked fans for their continued support.

"I hope magkita-kita't magsama-sama pa tayo sa journey ko dito sa Chery. Sa Chery fans, excited akong ma-meet kayo and sana suportahan ni'yo ako and kaming lahat para sa magandang future natin," she said.

Galang's move to Chery Tiggo is part of the Cargo Movers' dispersal, which already saw multi-titled libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig signing with the Cignal HD Spikers

Meanwhile, flexible blocker-spiker Ivy Lacsina has moved to the young Nxled Chameleons.

The Crossovers, led by Best Outside Spiker Eya Laure and fellow star rookies in Princess Robles and Jen Nierva, finished fourth in the Second All-Filipino Conference, their best of the 2023 season.

Chery Tiggo adds Ara Galang to that mix, as the team looks to return to its championship ways.
