While the Farm Fresh Foxies have not announced any major additions during this PVL offseason, the team has been training with Japanese consultant Master Shimizu.

The Foxies started their preparations on January 6, when they went out of town to undergo a short training camp with Master Shimizu.

In that short span, the young Farm Fresh squad was able to pick up several lessons from the Japanese tactician.

Outside hitter Kate Santiago even detailed some of her notable experiences training under Master Shimizu.

“Bale ilang beses niya akong natalakan kasi mali ang pwesto ko sa receive, hinawi ko ang block ko instead na in position lang dapat,” said Santiago in a Farm Fresh post. “Na-award-an talaga ako. Ang naisip ko lang: deserve!”

“Pero maraming natutunan sa kanya at pag nai-correct mo sa next rally, papalakpakan ka niya at sasabihan ng good job,” she added.

Looks like the Japanese system is working wonders for the young Farm Fresh squad, right after tapping champion coach Hideo Suzuki of Kurashiki Ablaze as team consultant.

The Foxies finished 10th in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, showing signs of improvement following their debut in the Invitational Conference where they finished 13th.

They may not be announcing big sign-ups, but expect the much-improved version of the Foxies come the new PVL season.
