Alphabetical order meant nothing for Creamline's Alyssa Valdez, as she was already at the front of Ryujin Nippon's fan club.
The Cool Smashers’ captain had a photo-taking opportunity with the Japanese volleyball stars Ran Takahashi and Yuji Nishida ahead of their opening game against Canada in the Philippine leg of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League men’s competition.
But wait, there’s more.
Not only did the Phenom get the selfie with Ryujin Nippon's standout, but Ran also started following Alyssa on Instagram.
Sana all!
“Can’t get over [it]!!!” she wrote on her Facebook post with too much kilig, you can feel it through the screen.
Same, Ate Ly. Same!
The Creamline veteran could be hailed as the winner of the VNL fans this year.
In 2023, Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ libero Jen Nierva had a fangirl moment with Japan’s outside hitter Ran and team captain Yuki Ishikawa.
Meanwhile, we cannot forget the iconic jowa reveal of NU Lady Bulldogs’ ace, Bella Belen, with Ran in 2022.
“no more “sana all” 🫶 #jowareveal chz,” she jokingly captioned on her Instagram.

While World No. 3 Japan stumbled with a five-set loss against World No. 12 Canada in Day 1 of the Philippine leg of the VNL men’s competition, Ran Takahashi and the rest of the Ryukin Nippon are optimistic to bounce back in the upcoming games.
“I think we have a problem with reception. I think we are out of the high frustration because it’s Canada [we are facing]; it’s [a] really nice block, a higher block. And then I think we can do much better, you know. We have eyes on [our] solution, but maybe we have to improve our reception,” shared Ran with One Sports.
“Today, we lost, but [in the] next match, we’ll try to win,” captain Ishikawa added.
Team Japan looks to regain their momentum as they face Team Netherlands on June 21, 2024, LIVE at 7:00 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
