Maicah Larroza will be reunited with her ate and idol Jolina Dela Cruz after being selected by the Farm Fresh Foxies with the 4th pick in the inaugural PVL Rookie Draft.
The Farm Fresh Foxies surprised and impressed many with their selection of Maicah Larroza of De La Salle University as the 4th pick in the inaugural PVL Rookie Draft.
Among those surprised by the selection was Larroza herself, who did not expect to be selected that early in the draft.
“I did not expect to be picked by Farm Fresh, but of course, I’m very excited, and I’m looking forward to working with my future coaches and teammates,” Larroza told reporters.
With Larroza as the 4th pick, the 5-foot-5 outside hitter, who also plays as a libero, continued La Salle’s streak in the Rookie Draft as the top 4 picks were all from the product of coach Ramil de Jesus.
“I think this is a product of our sacrifices and hardwork kasi iba ‘yung pinagdaanan namin and ‘yung journey namin sa La Salle. Ni-look forward din namin na meron kaming dream na ma-achieve sa PVL,” said Larroza.

As she begins her new journey in the PVL, Larroza will be under the mentorship of newly-appointed Japanese head coach Shota Sato—something that the former DLSU “magic bunot” is excited about.
“With the Japanese coach and Farm Fresh is a young and emerging team, I’m very excited na i-share ‘yung skills ko sa kanila and I’m also excited na mag-learn ng mga bago sa Japanese coach and sa system ng Farm Fresh,” said Larroza.
Under Farm Fresh, Larroza will also have the chance to play alongside her ate and idol Jolina Dela Cruz, who is still making a full recovery from her ACL injury.
“I’m very excited to be playing with ate Jolina kasi siya ‘yung naging college idol ko. Like before ako mag-enter sa La Salle, idol na idol ko siya nung rookie year niya,” said Larroza.
