There will be plenty of repercussions on the final gameday of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference's elimination round.

Seven teams have secured their spot in the quarterfinals, with one left still up for grabs.

Akari, Cignal secure top two spots

Among those seven, only the Akari Chargers (8-0) and Cignal HD Spikers (7-1) have sealed their spot in the standings, finishing first and second, respectively.

The Chargers made history by sweeping the elimination round and advancing to the quarterfinals, where they await the 8th seed.

The HD Spikers likewise were dominant throughout the tournament, losing only to Akari during the first group play of the conference.

3rd to 7th spots still up for grabs

This leaves the Creamline Cool Smashers, PLDT High Speed Hitters, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, Capital1 Solar Spikers, and Petro Gazz Angels battling for positioning ahead of the quarterfinals.

Four of the five aforementioned teams will play their last game on Thursday, August 22, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The Cool Smashers have the best chance of securing the third spot, which they currently hold, as they face the winless ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles at 1:00 p.m.

The High Speed Hitters, on the other hand, will have their hands worth against the hungry Choco Mucho Flying Titans, who are fighting to save their playoff hopes, at 3:00 p.m.

Lastly, at 5:00 p.m., the Angels and Crossovers will battle it out for playoff positioning. The match will be crucial for Petro Gazz as a win would send them to sixth place, above Capital1.

8th spot up to Choco Mucho

The battle for the 8th seed and the final spot in the quarterfinals spot is simple.

A win for Choco Mucho over PLDT means they go through, and the Farm Fresh Foxies are eliminated. A loss would mean the end of the Flying Titan’s Reinforced Conference campaign.

Struggling to find their form throughout the tournament, Choco Mucho hopes to find one last push in them to revive their title hopes.
