Creamline jumpstarted their chase for a historic PVL grand slam with a dominating win over foreign guest team EST Cola, 25-13, 25-12, 25-15, in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference on Friday, September 6 at the Sta. Rosa Sports City Complex.
Playing in their second game in the last three days, the Cool Smashers hardly looked fatigued at all and overwhelmed their Thai counterpart to chalk-up their first win in the last tournament of the season.
It was all Cool Smashers from start to finish as the nine-time PVL champions sent EST Cola reeling to their second successive loss.
Kyle Negrito paced a smooth sailing Creamline offense with 15 excellent sets as Michele Gumabao led the attack with 15 points and double MVP Bernadeth Pons added 10 markers.
Import Erica Staunton played in limited minutes and finished with eight points for the Cool Smashers, who are just two days remove from conquering the PVL Reinforced Conference after beating the Akari Chargers.
Meanwhile, Warisara Seetaloed once again paced EST Cola with seven points as no players for the squad finished in double figures.
Up next for the Cool Smashers is the much-awaited rematch against defending Invitational champion Kurashiki Ablaze on Sunday, September 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
