The Cignal HD Spikers made quick work of the Farm Fresh Foxies in their opening match of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Cignal is off to a strong start in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after sweeping Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21, at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The HD Spikers overpowered the Foxies, who were without their newest signings in Rachel Anne Daquis and Jheck Dionela.
Tied at 13-all in the third set, Cignal pushed ahead for a three-point lead after a middle attack by Riri Meneses.
With momentum on their side, the HD Spikers maintained their lead over the Foxies as Ishie Lalongisip's cross-court attack that dropped on the line sealed the straight-sets victory.
Gel Cayuna had a brilliant outing for the HD Spikers with five points and 16 excellent sets, orchestrating the Cignal offense and earning Player of the Game honors.
Cignal will face Chery Tiggo next on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
Farm Fresh, on the other hand, will look to bounce back against Petro Gazz next Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Candon City Arena.
