Gerry Abadiano makes it rain with six triples for the UP Fighting Maroons against the FEU Tamaraws in UAAP Season 87.
Gerry Abadiano delivered a standout performance as the UP Fighting Maroons fended off a gritty FEU Tamaraws comeback to secure an 86-78 victory in UAAP Season 87 men's basketball on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
Abadiano led the way for UP with 19 points, sinking six triples and grabbing four rebounds to earn Player of the Game honors. His timely scoring helped the Fighting Maroons build a 16-point third-quarter lead, but FEU rallied late, cutting the deficit to just three points in the final minute.
With the Tamaraws threatening, JD Cagulangan nailed a clutch three-pointer with 27.6 seconds left and added insurance free throws to seal the win.
UP, now 10-3 and already Final Four-bound, will face UE in their final elimination game. FEU, finishing their campaign at 5-9, is officially out of Final Four contention despite a valiant effort.
