The PLDT High Speed Hitters continue to build momentum as they look ahead to their tougher opponents in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The High Speed Hitters continued its strong start to the conference after overpowering the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
In their first three games, PLDT has only dropped a single set, coming from their four-set win against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles.
Despite their comfortable victories, head coach Rald Ricafort said that the wins haven’t gotten into the team’s head as they look forward to much tougher games in the coming weeks.
"Actually, 'yung results nung past three games hindi masyadong nag-a-affect samin eh. Nandun parin kami talaga sa pagma-mind set kung paano namin i-look forward 'yung mga stronger teams,” Ricafort said during the post-game press conference.
“Bonus nalang na nagiging easy wins pero dagdag nalang talaga na may momentum kami going to those hard games. pero, ayun, 'yung mindset parin talaga na regardless kung gaano kabigat dapat mag-show up kami lagi,” he added.
Savi Davison led the way once more for PLDT with 17 points, while Erika Santos and Fiola Ceballos added 11 markers apiece.
Team captain Kath Arado had an excellent game as well with 14 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions, earning Player of the Game honors.
“Nakaka-proud siya kasi may goal kasi kami talaga as a team. Maganda kasi talaga ‘yung preparation namin and siyempre tulong na din sa mga coaches nag-scoscout sila then inaaply namin sa training,” said Arado.
“Hindi na talaga bago samin ‘yung galaw namin, kailangan nalang talaga namin masundan ‘yung plano, ‘yung sistem na iniinuput ng coaches.”
PLDT will go for its fourth-straight win next Tuesday, Dec. 3 when they face the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
The Solar Spikers, meanwhile, dropped to 0-3, still looking for its first win in the conference.
Heather Guino-o was the lone double-digit scorer for Capital1 with 10 points, 10 receptions, and seven digs.
The Solar Spikers hope to finally grab its first win on Saturday, Nov. 30 as they go up against the Nxled Chameleons still at the PhilSports Arena.
