The Nxled Chameleons finally gifted Italian coach Ettore Guidetti a first win in the PVL after smashing past the Galeries Tower Highrisers in four sets.
History repeats itself for Nxled.
The Chameleons ended a 15-game losing skid after trumping over the Galeries Tower Highrisers in four sets, 25-20, 19-25, 25-14, 25-23, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, February 8.
Nxled’s last win also came against Galeries Tower during the 2024 Reinforced Conference. This also marks Italian coach Ettore Guidetti’s first win in the PVL.
In the fourth set, the Chameleons turned to veteran spiker EJ Laure, who had her best game yet since donning the neon green jersey earlier in the conference.
Lacking the closing punch in their previous outings, Laure and Chiara Permentilla delivered the team’s four crucial points, before May Luna-Lumahan sealed the much-needed victory.
Laure topscored for Nxled with 19 points, built on 14 attacks and five blocks.
Both teams are now tied with a 1-8 record in the extended conference.
The Chameleons will have two games left in their preliminary round schedule. Next up will be the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Thursday, February 13.
