The Petro Gazz Angels are set to face new competition on the international stage after they take on Taiwan’s Taipower and Hong Kong’s Hip Hing Women’s Volleyball Team in Pool B of the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League at the Philsports Arena from April 20-27.

As the host country, the Angels were placed in Pool B during the Drawing of Lots earlier this afternoon in Bangkok, Thailand.

Having secured a spot in the tournament after ending as the no. 2 seed in the ongoing PVL All-Filipino Conference, Petro Gazz is looking to make an impact in its first appearance at the tournament.

The Angels will not lack talent and firepower in the competition as they will be led by reigning All-Filipino MVP Brooke Van Sickle, Myla Pablo, MJ Phillips, and Remy Palma.

Petro Gazz, however, will be limited to just one more import in the tournament as Van Sickle and Phillips are already considered as imports since the two are still affiliated with USA Volleyball.

Waiting to face the Koji Tsuzurabara-led squad will be some stiff competition in Pool B.

Taipower is a well-established team from Taiwan, known for its disciplined play, while Hip Hing is ready to show the growing volleyball scene in Hong Kong.
