We love a sibling showdown.
It was a face-off that got everyone giggling.
Early in the first set, the Petro Gazz Angels and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans were deep in back-and-forth action. A tip-in by Jonah Sabete had two ube girls scouring for the ball in the middle. Isa Molde tossed it, but it was too low for Kat Tolentino who had to give the free ball for the other side.
The Angels' setter Djanel Cheng signaled the play for Sabete, and watched for a second before moving to defend. The 5-foot-6 Djanel jumped to block the ball against the high flyer who went for the spike, it was her younger sister Des Cheng.
The outside hitter stared at her sibling for a second. Djanel just shrugged.
Point to Petro Gazz, 4-7.
Coach Oliver Almadro's new team managed to get the sweep against the Flying Titans, his former wards.
Djanel made three points, two coming off blocks, along with 18 excellent sets. Des had nine points coming from eight attacks and an ace, along with 11 excellent digs. But it was all good for the Chengs, as Djanel even went under the net to hug her sister.
Des Cheng even reshared a photo with her sibling with the caption, "0-3".
Fans were pretty much tickled to witness the interaction, relating to the sibling rivalry.
Choco Mucho will be looking to bounce back as they face fellow fan favorite Creamline next Tuesday, February 14. Petro Gazz will take on the win-hungry Cignal on February 18.
