Is this the year for the Lady Falcons?
Adamson Lady Falcons team captain Louie Romero says her decision to return to San Marcelino for one more year is driven by the supporters of the school and the squad—to whom she promised to fight for a UAAP women’s volleyball championship.
The setter will certainly have help in pursuing these championship aspirations, as fellow senior Lorene Toring has also decided to stay for UAAP Season 86.
Fans didn’t hide their excitement when both volleybelles announced their decision to remain with Adamson on Monday.
But more than seeing their veterans back, it’s the strong potential of winning the championship that’s sending fans into a frenzy.
More so because the Lady Falcons are welcoming back their core of Romero, Toring, Kate Santiago, and Trisha Tubu.
Fans can’t help but see that they are indeed shooting for the stars next season.
In Season 85, the San Marcelino-based squad finished third in the standings to make it to the Final Four, where they lost to Season 84 champions NU Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Falcons, however, were just one win short of having a chance to secure a twice-to-beat advantage in the penultimate round.
And next year, with all the other Final Four members—NU, De La Salle Lady Spikers, and UST Golden Tigresses—losing key pieces to the pros, it’s not surprising to think why fans believe this is the year to strike for the Lady Falcons.
Season 86 is shaping up to be another exciting year of women’s volleyball.
