UAAP Season 85 was a difficult campaign for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, to say the least.

The Blue Eagles finished sixth in the standings with a 4-10 win-loss record, missing out on the Final Four for the first time in 14 seasons. Their only wins came against the UE Lady Red Warriors and the UP Fighting Maroons, the only teams that ranked lower than the Blue Eagles in the standings.

One bright spot for Ateneo was the consistency of libero Roma Mae Doromal, who finished second in the race for Season 85's Best Libero award.

In an Instagram post, Doromal looked back on Ateneo’s up-and-down season, posting several photos of the team throughout the eliminations.

She encapsulated the post with a familiar quote.

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn,” Doromal wrote.

“Thank you, Season 85,” she added.

With Faith Nisperos and Vanie Gandler making the jump to the pro ranks, the Blue Eagles will have to up their recruitment process to secure more talented individuals in Loyola Heights.

Luckily for the Blue Eagles, Doromal will continue to be an important piece for them as they look to get back on track come Season 86.
