Adamson barged to the winning column of the UAAP Season 86 men’s volleyball tournament Saturday, taking a three-set win over UP.

Jude Aguilar starred for the Soaring Falcons with 14 points to earn the player of the game honors, but he reiterated that the San Marcelino-based squad still has a lot of ways to go, especially on the service receiving end.

“Next po namin gagawin sa ensayo is i-improve pa po 'yung service receive namin kasi dun po kami mas kulang,” Aguilar said.

Adamson connected on an impressive 57% reception rate but committed 20 errors in a match that lasted only one hour and 14 minutes.

Furthermore, the Soaring Falcons appear to already have a better year in Season 86 two games in, compared to their Season 85 effort. Last year, Adamson coincidentally also only beat UP, but the team was 0-6 and 1-11 at the time of their twin wins.

Head coach George Pascua emphasized maturity and game execution for his boys, as they now look to build on their 1-1 standing.

“Nakita ko 'yung maturity ng team. Sabi ko nga sa kanila, di na familiar 'yung mga kalaban natin sa UAAP. Nasa atin na lang kung paano natin magawa yung game plan, kung paano natin ie-execute,” Pascua said in the post-game interview.

Adamson braces for a tough challenge in their next assignment with the defending champion NU Bulldogs on February 28.
