Roma Mae Doromal also bared her plans after maximizing her playing years for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament.
It was a proper send-off for graduating senior Roma Mae Doromal after Ateneo de Manila University powered past Adamson University in straight sets, 25-13, 25-17, 25-21, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, April 24.
Doromal finished with nine excellent digs and six excellent receptions in her final game wearing the white and blue.
Despite not making the Final Four for the second consecutive year, the 5-foot-4 libero was still proud of the Blue Eagles' improvement throughout the season.
"Sobrang proud ako kasi nakita ko 'yung progress ng teammates ko. Sobrang madami kayong makukuha sa kanila, like nakita niyo naman kung gaano sila kagaling, so I'm very proud lang talaga and thankful din ako na nag-stay ako and na-help ko sila this season," Doromal said during the post-game press conference.
The libero-captain also admitted finding her purpose for the team after deciding to return for her last season in Ateneo.
"Staying sa kanila, nakita ko 'yung purpose ko na i-help sila. As a libero din, 'yun lang naman talaga 'yung support na magi-give ko eh, hindi ako makaka-give ng points but andun sa kanila all the way. 'Yun siguro 'yung pinaka-success for me na na-help ko sila mag-grow sa bagong system," Doromal said.
When asked about her plans after maximizing her playing years with Ateneo, Doromal gave a short but sweet answer.
"We'll go pro, but let's see kung saan," said Doromal.
