No return anytime soon.

PNVF national team chairman Ricky Palau revealed that several key players playing in Alas Pilipinas Women will not only miss the ongoing Reinforced Conference, but also the Invitational Conference.

The Invitationals will feature the top four teams from the ongoing tournament alongside two international guest teams.

“Technically, they’ll be released by September 15. But by then, the season will be over, so their next appearance in the PVL will likely be in the All-Filipino Conference, which I think will start by November,” Palou reiterated.

This means Choco Mucho will be without key stars Sisi Rondina and Cherry Nunag while Chery Tiggo will be without Jen Nierva and Eya Laure.

Second running Cignal will be without Dawn Catindig and Vanie Gandler, and PLDT is forced to adjust without Dell Palomata.

“I understand those games will be around September 9, 10, and 11, which is when we will be wrapping up our Invitational Conference, so they won’t be able to return by then. Unless they change their schedule, but I doubt it,” continued Palou, who recently replaced Tony Boy Liao as the PNVF national team chairman.

Choco Mucho will be heavily affected, as the team continues to struggle without star players Sisi Rondina and Cherry Nunag.

Creamline’s Jema Galanza and Akari’s duo of Fifi Sharma and Faith Nisperos will also not return to their mother clubs who are currently poised for a deep playoff run.

The debut of the league’s first-ever top overall pick Thea Gagate for ZUS Coffee and no.3 overall pick Julia Coronel, for Galeries Tower will have to wait until next season.
