Philippine-based squad Team Secret came up short against Korean team T1, 2-1, in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 1 at Sangnam Coliseum in Seoul, South Korea on Monday, April 7.

T1 was able to take control of the first game of the series despite Haven being a map pick of Team Secret. Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul's Yoru led the way with an Average Combat Score (ACS) of 340 on 23 kills.

Icebox saw Team Secret control the early game, finishing the first half at 9-3. T1 tried to even the score on attackers' side but was unable to break the hold of Team Secret, who took the game at 13-9.

Jeremy "Jremy" Cabrera was named MVP of the game with a 313 ACS on 21 kills.

Team Secret was able to somehow carry the momentum in Lotus map as they finish the first half with the lead, 7-5. But a well-coordinated offense by T1 saw seven straight rounds going in favor of the Korea-based team and eventually the series, 13-8.

Team Secret is still winless in the tournament at 0-3, while T1 is the third team to qualify for the playoffs along with another Korean team, DRX, and Indonesian-based team BOOM Esports with identical 3-0 records.

Team Secret will continue to chase a win as they face Nongshim RedForce on April 12.

Meanwhile, Global Esports was helpless against DRX in the earlier series, 0-2.

The Filipino trio of Kelly "kellyS" Sedillo, Federico "PapiChulo" Evangelista, and Mark "patrickWHO" Musni were stumped to counter DRX in the first map, registering a dismal 3-13 score.

The second game saw a more close game between the two teams that were in a deadlock at 8-8 before DRX taking the match at 13-10. Global Esports drop their second straight series and are fourth place in Group Alpha with a 1-2 record, while DRX remain undefeated at 3-0.

Global Esports is still in the running for a playoff spot and will face Gen.G Esports on April 13.
