The team is gearing up for a pocket tournament there.
Justin Brownlee finally joined Gilas Pilipinas’ training camp in Europe as part of their buildup for the FIBA World Cup in August.
According to One Sports correspondent Carlo Pamintuan, the beloved naturalized player arrived in Tallinn, Estonia Monday morning (Estonia time) then laced up for the team’s practice later that day.
Gilas coach Chot Reyes said Brownlee had to sit out their training at the Inspire Sports Academy because of a non-basketball medical procedure.
The national team began its first practice in Estonia on Friday as it is set to participate in a pocket tournament there.
After that, Gilas will also join another competition in Finland before taking on Lithuania’s under-21 team.
Reyes told News5’s Martie Bautista in a previous interview they have “very low expectations” since this is all part of the process.
“We’re gonna get our butts kicked for sure, but that’s part of the process,” he said.
