Famous volleyball players become fans for a week.
Last year, Bella Belen of the NU Lady Bulldogs was hailed by volleyball fans as the true winner of the Volleyball Nations League 2022, when the men's competition was hosted in the Philippines.
After all, she got this selfie with Japan's star outside hitter Ran Takahashi.
A year later, another Lady Bulldog gets a selfie with Takahashi—libero Jen Nierva of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
Oh, and she has a shot with another Japanese spiker, Yuki Ishikawa.
But wait, she's not the only one with selfies. In fact, there's an entire group of volleyball stars who turned to stans during the Team Japan Fan Day at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The group includes Creamline Cool Smashers' Alyssa Valdez, Risa Sato, and Celine Domingo, Chery Tiggo Crossovers' Pauline Gaston, Ateneo Blue Eagles' Bok Morado, VNS Griffins' Ron Medalla, Imus Ivy Tuason Photography AJAA Spikers' Josh Villanueva, Cignal HD Spikers' Chumason Njigha, and Petro Gazz Angels' coach Oliver Almadro.
Villanueva is definitely working that neckline.
Gaston made efforts to take snaps with a lot of Team Japan members.
And so did Medalla.
Sana kami rin.
Probably the luckiest of them all are Akari Chargers' Michelle Cobb and Adamson Lady Falcons' Lucille Almonte, who also got themselves a signed jersey aside from their selfies.
Team Japan, now at 8-0, will be taking on China to open Round 3 of the Volleyball Nations League pool stage in Pasay at 7 p.m. this Tuesday.
